About this Episode
In this edition of TJR, I had the fortune of connecting and weaving alongside two friends from Bogotá, Naxxo and Canina, founders and creators of the label Joya.
We talked about what it feels like and what it means to live Joya — their struggles and goals as an independent Latin American label.
Joya is an independent Bogotá-based label that dives into the underground to make space for the diversity of Latin American club sounds. Heavy bass, sonic experimentation and full sobeteo — exploring sensuality and rhythmic abandon as the core of their identity. More than a label, Joya is a platform that amplifies the club scene from a hybrid perspective.
