Sonic Explorations
How does music shape perception, space and emotional states?
Each episode uses a single term as an atmospheric reference point — creating an associative setting that becomes tangible in the sound itself.

About this Episode
This months episode of Sonic Explorations is taken over with a Deepchord only mix by the amsterdam based and born DJ and Producer Varuna Agosti.
Blending atmospheric techno, house, and dub-infused textures with a soulful warmth, she creates dancefloor experiences that connect body and mind. Mentioned by Dutch tastemaker 3voor12 as an “exciting talent,” she has played renowned stages including RAUM, Intercell, Lofi, RADION, Thuishaven, Wildeburg, Into the Woods, Vault Sessions, and international venues from Berlin to Georgia.
Currently studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and holding residencies at OPRHIC and RRFM, she approaches each set and studio session as a story - inviting dancers into moments of movement, release, and flow that resonate long after the party ends.
A few words by Varuna about her approach to this episode:
Life often feels overwhelming for me: things go too fast, are loud, demanding or intense. To escape and come back to myself, I usually reach for Deepchord’s music. His philosophy gave me an even deeper appreciation for his art: in interviews he talks about the world of “soft noise” and about the responsibility of making sounds that don’t disrupt the subtle energy fields of the human physiology, and to use sound to create positive states of mind and improve the lives of others. I learned this after becoming a huge fan of his music, and it made even more sense afterwards. It is often the only thing that I can listen to.
I wanted to make a Deepchord-only mix, so that there is just one uninterrupted stream of comfort, warmth, and wonder. His music transports me to a place where I find a lot of solace, and I hope it can do the same for you.
“Learning to fully listen can be applied to appreciating other humans and other life forms. Every person (and everything) can teach us something valuable and important for our own personal evolution. Listening with our whole heart and soul is the key to enjoying life to the fullest.”
