Objet Personnel aims to contextualize emotions and meanings attached to objects in the material world through sonic interpretation via musical arrangement. An object serves as an occasion as well as a basis for most personal expression, with the sonic product being strictly topical to the artist's perception of their own chosen object.

the object that i chose is a statue that my great grandma bought for my mum many years ago, when my mum and dad first moved in together. my mum and dad named the statue ‘Jaheira’ after the character in Baldurs Gate, which they used to play together. Jaheira has been this kind of permanent object in my life, always somewhere in the garden wherever we lived when i was growing up.

much of my thinking regarding dance music recently, in part due to conversations with my good friend chris (LFL), revolves around this idea of timelessness or permanence - these pieces of music which accompany you for many years, that really stand the test of time. this fairly linear dancefloor-oriented mix serves as a condensation of some music that i consider to be timeless, while also reflecting the sound that i want to push through my productions, djing and through our label ‘tactual’.
