DIVE is an invitation to explore the depths of specific themes, genres, sounds or musical aesthetics. The show imagines diving as a mode of submersion - one that is based on curiosity, observation and flow - and invites selectors to immerse themselves fully in a subject of their choosing.

I've been to Morocco more times than I can count but it was only last year, in March of 2024 that Anna and I visited Records Zaman for the first time in person. A hidden treasure trove in the centre of Agadir, Records Zaman is a tiny place, steeped in history, jam-full with everything from staple rock & pop records, to Moroccan folk and obscure electronic releases. After browsing the shelves, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner Amine, who told us how his father started the business in the late 1960s. He also shared some gems from his personal cassette tape collection with us - unfortunately (but understandably) not for sale. Turns out, Amine is not only a reseller but also a passionate selector and DJ. We were happy to get a glimpse into one small corner of his vast sonic archive and we’re honored to have him on the show this month with a selection of Moroccan Disco and Funk. Thanks, Amine!
