antonia alessia virginia beeskow is airing live from Düsseldorf where she lives and works. she is a transmedia artist who works with sound art and performance in theater, dance, radio, and visual arts internationally and in German-speaking countries. she also works as a producer for podcasts and audio formats. antonia freelances as an instructor in the fields of microphone technology, sound design, and radio drama at universities, museums, and other educational institutions. Her work explores archival cultures and sampling, the hauntological quality of artifacts between sound and noise as narrative moment and endless loop. She loves to play reverse, especially the swallows' and swifts' stirring cries in the air.

dj notes: As an exercise I'm planning on writing a text this year on the sound artists EVOL, on the particularity of their subersively goofy aesthetics and uncomprosing, non-rhythmic use of repetition. I started listening to their stuff again for this, along with other artists who were or have been pursuing a similar type of radically minimal deconstructive (non-)beat music. I got an itch to develop a set with tracks I've (re)discovered in this process, and figured this is a great opportunity to scratch that itch. In a way this mix is therefore also an exercise for me, in selecting and mixing/arranging bonkers music together.
