Like the dish, this monthly morning radio show is meant to accompany you through the day, offering comfort and connection.

With nostalgic sounds and musical storytelling, the show highlights migrant selectors based in Germany, exploring memory, identity, and belonging.

rice & beans is back with Borondera!

Borondera (la que se va de borondo) comes from Cali, Colombia and for the past 7 years has been living (but soon leaving) in Germany. In Leipzig she started the project Salsura, which along with her time in radio, brought her closer to the joy of sharing music and dancing in the Diaspora. With Salsura, through workshops, radio shows and Salsa Caleña beginners classes, she has aimed to create spaces that are truthful to latin american music and dancing culture, where there is no room for the exotization view that the global north usually imposes upon it.

“As a kid I was the first one to wake up at home, extremely early in the morning, filled with a rushing energy that had to settle for eating cereal and watching cartoons while everyone else slept.

I'm no longer part of the early birds demographic. I'm more like a zombie each morning, hating the entire world just because I had to leave my bed. But that's nothing that the good old tunes can't fix!

This is my version of a slow morning. One through which I can smile while dragging my feet to a Son, sing a Bolero with a cup of tea in my hands, and start dancing to a Pachanga in my kitchen.
