In this episode we listen to some tracks of the wonderful composer Alessandro Alessandroni. The Italian musician was born in 1925 and started at an early age to learn multiple instruments, including the guitar, mandolin, sitar and accordion. In the senevties he collaborated with stars like Piero Umiliani and Ennio Morricone on a number of soundtracks for Italo Western (i.e. Dollars Trilogy, Once Upon a Time in the West) and composed film music for over 40 movies. I was known to a general television audience for his choir, the famous "Cantori Moderni" founded in 1961. His wife and vocalist Giulia De Mutiis performed wordless vocals on many of his songs. Alessandroni also performed as a whistling soloist – his greatest success was "A Fistful of Dollars"

Alessandroni passed away in 2017. He left a remarkable footprint in the vibrant era of Italian jazz and library music from 1960-1980.

His album "L'ora del cocktail" was a huge inpiration of the Pool Time concept.
