Schleuse Zwei is the music bar in the basement of the Bilker Bunker at Aachener Straße 39 in the Bilk district. With its special charm, well-curated music programme and diverse audience, it is considered an insider tip in Düsseldorf. Inspired by Japanese listening bars, it hosts bar evenings with DJ sets, live performances and concerts. The focus is on sound quality, good drinks and socialising. In addition to a wide selection of drinks, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, the bar offers an unrivalled atmosphere. The brute guise of the former high-rise bunker is broken up in Schleuse Zwei by modern light installations and soft seating. The welcoming culture, the friendly and open staff and the approachability of the bands and DJs create a sense of community. The musical orientation at Schleuse Zwei is diverse. Genres and styles are boldly mixed without fear of contact: electronic music, hip-hop, jazz. The sound is sometimes driving and bass-heavy, sometimes weird and experimental, sometimes easy and accessible, sometimes hard, sometimes tender.
From Wednesday to Saturday, different DJs play individual live sets, whose musical spectrum is like a journey through the styles of electronic music. There are also regular concerts by various local and national musicians in a very intimate setting - even outside of regular opening hours. From Anushka Chkheidze, Miki Yui, Yosa Peit and KITNO, to Silvan Strauss, Taroug, Soul Supreme and Twit 1, II, Three, to der Assistent, Anna Erhard, Theodor, Pose Dia and Andrea Belfi, Schleuse Zwei hosts well-known, up-and-coming and as yet undiscovered artists. The programme can be viewed on the website.
